At this moment we cannot say how long it will take - it might be 1-2 days.

xNews v1.67 BETA - News Module goes Clonable

xNews v1.67 BETA - Clonable & UTF-8 compliant

I needed a cloanable news module and one that worked correctly with xlanguage and UTF-8 so I decided to start a new news branch.

I had to decide on two ways to face the problem. One was that i could write a cloner file with a long list of files to be parsed and renamed in every needed spot and the other to use an automatic parser of files that only changes prefixes and a few file names like the clone file in Oledrion. The first was disregarded only because at every code modification one has to keep track of every single change and update the cloner file by hand, in the second case nothing has to be done all prefixes are parsed removing conflicts between cloned modules. Its fast and reliable. Below are some of the changes I made.

Called module xNews to keep original News module as is. No overwriting.

!!!! IMPORTANT !!!! Please upgrade your News module to 1.64-5-6 before installing xNews if you have intention to import data from original - it has not been tested on previous versions.

!!!! IMPORTANT !!!! Importing original News module 1.64-5-6 data - On install xNews activates import button only if xNews stories table is empty therefore if you want to import data you should do this right after install and before doing anything else - Import will not work from clones. You can still work creating and adding news to clones without touching xNews data until you decide to import original news data.

I have tested the module on linux - Apache 2 - php 5 -mysql 5 - xoops 2.4.x - 2.5.x working fine.
Has to be tested on Windows.

2009 was an eventful year we had over 300 Gb of XOOPS modules downloaded. The server have been relocated to an off short service provider who has resellers in australia called www.servage.net.

We where worried about how much cpanel we where seeing and looked for a customised solution for hosting. You know when you see to much of something and seen people with experiences of over rated service running cpanel - well servage offers a simple web 2.0 system they have written themselves. It isn't just for small fry.

2009 was an eventful year, the owner of this website Simon Roberts was married to Elpiniki Iosif in may 09. Which meant there was an unproductive time of development.

There aren't very many fiscals to report, a donation of 20 USD was paid by one of our clients and a few t-shirts where also donated.

Simon was promoted to XOOPS Developer on www.xoops.org and has been maintaining the code with the 2.4 series of xoops, his role included expanding the options in the object class to support International Domain Names and multiplex language flat file system for future expansion of PDO and other features in xoops.

Some documentation was expanded in the wiki and there where a couple of acquisitions of website domains. The domain registrar operating on this ABN is turning over approximately 60 AUD per month which is used for extending the registration of domains we own.

XOOPS 2.5 Alpha 2 is vrijgegeven

XOOPS 2.5 Alpha 2 is vandaag vrijgegeven. De system module heeft door middel van jQuery en AJAX interessante visuele mogelijkheden gekregen. Meest in het oog springend is dat je aan de admin zijde visueel kunt zien waar blokken zich binnen het theme bevinden. Via drag and drop kun je ze herschikken.

Let wel, het is een Alpha release dus nog absoluut niet geschikt voor het bouwen van productie websites !

XOOPS 2.4.4 final uitgebracht

XoopsPoll is de standaard XOOPS module om peilingen in een website of forumberichten te verwerken. Deze versie is een update van versie 1.2 en biedt naast verbeterde compatibiliteit een aantal nieuwe functies. De naar het Nederlands vertaalde versie van de module is hier te downloaden.

Veranderingen/ verbeteringen:

Video Tube v1.86 is an XOOPS module providing the ability to search, embed and manage videos on your site. Search, preview and auto-fill submission offered for YouTube, DailyMotion, MetaCafe and blip.tv plus a manual submission form for all other video services that offer video embedding.

This is a beta release contains a bug fix so searching and previewing YouTube videos works again. YouTube modified the JSON feed format which required an update in the VideoTube code. It also provides the addition of tags supporting Facebook sharer and a Preferences parameter to select whether or not the YouTube video description should be copied into the local database when a video is selected/submitted.

X Basic Graphs is a prototype module release for adding JPGraph functionality to your XOOPS site so you can easily generate graphs and statistical charts. Please note that this module is built with JPGraph Library 2.3.4 which requires PHP5. The module contains the JPGraph Library and examples of how to create your own graphs. If you come up with graph creations you would like to share with others we will be happy to add these to the graphs subdirectory. We will be adding subdirectories to the graphs subdirectory labeled after the module they are associated with.
